26-28 Weeks

28 Weeks: Haven't been doing too much lately... Been extremely tired, just wanting MS to come, I guess I am starting to get bored with being pregnant...

27 Weeks: Had my glucose test, that wasn't too much fun being as I couldn't eat until the test was done. The contractions I have been having are fairly normal as long as they don't last for more than an hour and less than 10 min. apart consistently... I am supposed to drink 1 liter of water and take a Tylenol within an hour from the onset of contractions.

26 Weeks: She is just beating me up all the time, she loves kicking my bladder. M and her have a game, he pushes on my belly and she kicks back and they will do this for about an hour... Me on the other hand I am just getting beat up on both sides when they do this

Shawnda,
I am not excited at all about the glucose test. Don't you have to drink that stuff and then wait an hour before they check you blood? I think I get to do that at my 7 month appointment. Is your doctor planning to do that group B stress test? (i think thats what it's called) or have you already had it done? I am not wanting that at all and just because I am not wanting I am sure my doctor is going to want to do it and I am thinking about just saying "no" Because not many women have it and I am not worried about it. According to my book it's not much to worry about and not all doctors do it. They just do it to play things safe, but some still don't bother to even do it, but I bet my doctor will. And anything that has the word rectal in it, is not happening with me. I would cry if I had to do something like that. I have heard awful things about the 6 week appointment too, and I don't know what I am going to do about that yet. What do you think?

Julie,
The glucose test (for me anyway)really wasn't that bad. I had the fruit punch drink and it tasted like watered down gatorade and my OB told me to bring a snack with me since you have to fast because you will not be feeling too well afterwards. Thats what I did and really it wasn't too bad. As far as the Group B Strep test they haven't done that yet, at my clinic they do that between 35-37 weeks of pregnancy. I am going to go ahead and do it (never heard it had the word rectal in it though) because everything I have read about it, I would rather be safe then sorry. My OB also told me if your not tested they will just give you antibiotics in an IV before you deliever the baby because Group B Strep can cause a long stay in NICU and 15% of babies that get it pass away, I know that is a low number but the way my luck has been going, I have been fitting in all types of low odds lately.

I read about it in "What to expect when your expecting" They do and "rectal swab" no thank you. Not happening. I'll just take the antibiotics without the test. Sorry, but I don't care who you are, you're not getting anywhere close to that area. That is way beyond my comfort level. Pap smears and stuff like that are not comfortable, but I feel those are necessary. But anything with the word rectal in it is not necessary for me. I don't care what anybody says.

Just wait till you get older and you have to get the colonoscopys to makes sure you don't have colon cancer etc... HAHA

It's my choice if I want to do those. What are the chances that I am going to get colon cancer. I know you never know but I'm not doing it, unless for some reason I feel diffrently about it then.

Yes its your choice... But just because you don't want someone by your butthole shouldn't jeopardize your health. Just think of everything and do your research and do what you think is right

yea, like I said I will make that choice when the time comes.
